This summer, Houston will become one of the world's great soccer cities. The World Cup will bring together the best players, the biggest rivalries, and millions of passionate fans from around the globe.
And while the world will be watching every match, many soccer fans agree that some of the greatest soccer traditions in the world come from Europe.
That is why Europe House Houston was created.
Located inside the Historic Magnolia Ballroom in Downtown Houston, Europe House is dedicated to celebrating the 16 European nations participating in the World Cup. While all tournament matches will be shown, the atmosphere, culture, entertainment, and fan experience will focus on the countries that have helped shape the history of the world's game.
Houston is home to more than 3 million soccer fans. An estimated 500,000 of those fans actively follow European national teams. The five largest European soccer fan bases alone represent approximately 250,000 supporters across the Greater Houston region.
In addition, Houston is home to approximately 25,000 European residents and hundreds of European companies. During the tournament, the city is expected to welcome tens of thousands of visitors from countries including The Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, and Sweden. Europe House creates a gathering place where these visitors and local fans can come together to celebrate their passion for soccer.
